
Anca Mocofanescu, Ph.D.
Senior Laser Physicist
I was born in Bucharest, Romania where I grew up. My undergraduate studies were at the University of Bucharest, Physics Department. I received my PhD degree in laser physics and nonlinear optics from the Institute of Atomic Physics, Bucharest, Romania.
I am an internationally recognized scientist in stimulated Brillouin scattering and I co-authored the first scholarly book on this subject, published by IOP Publishers, in 2003 in UK. Presently I am working on applying laser light scattering for medical applications as the Alzheimer disease. In addition to physics, my interests include music, reading, and traveling.
