MADLab TeamThe Molecular Aging & Development Laboratory (MADLab) focuses on pathogenic protein aggregation in chronically progressive degenerative disorders of aging. Primary research interests include the molecular pathology and protein chemistry of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and age-related cataracts (ARC).

MADLab — BU School of Medicine

MADLab at Boston University School of Medicine is a 2700 sq. ft. mutidisciplinary research facility located in BU's Biosquare Research Park, Boston's newest and largest biotechnology complex. This new state-of-the-art research facility is centrally located within the Boston University Medical Campus.

MADLab — BU Photonics Center

MADLab has a coordinate biophotonics laboratory at the Boston University Photonics Center devoted to translational development of innovative non-invasive laser-based diagnostic instruments.

Specialty Histopathology Unit (SHU)

The MADLab is home to the Specialty Histopathology Unit (SHU) a fully functional histopathology lab specializing in complex histology research projects. The SHU is outfitted with state-of-the-art instrumentation and peforms a comprehensive array of histology protocols.

 

Center for Biometals and Metallomics (CBM)

The Center for Biometals and Metallomics (CBM) is a unique cutting edge research facility that will provide unparalleled analytical capabilities for a consortium of world-renowned Boston University and Harvard-affiliated investigators in cell and molecular biology, metalloprotein biochemistry, physiology, cancer biology, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, neuropsychiatry, nutrition, and toxicology.
